It is impossible to imagine another Bush government. But will the Democrats be an improvement?
It seems Hillary is as determined to preempt the election of American’s perceived enemies as George is to preemptively torture and slaughter them.
Exclusive: Hillary Clinton On Israel, Iraq And Terror
On the eve of her expected reelection victory, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton met with the editorial board of The Jewish Press.
The former first lady and current front-runner in opinion polls for the Democratic Partys 2008 presidential nomination spoke at length about Israel, the ongoing war in Iraq, and the war on terror. Following are highlights of the discussion:
The Jewish Press: Israel recently concluded its war against Hizbullah in what many consider to be a stalemated position. How do you see things right now?
Sen. Clinton: First, I dont think we should have pushed for an election in the Palestinian territories. I think that was a big mistake.
If we were going to push for an election, we should have made sure we did something to determine who was going to win instead of signing off on an electoral system that advantaged Hamas.
In other words, good luck Jack!

Who Are Americans to Think That Freedom Is Theirs to Spread?
The New York Times Magazine

The deafening silence extends beyond Germany. Like Germany, Canada sat out the war in Iraq. Ask the Canadians why they aren’t joining the American crusade to spread democracy, and you get this from their government’s recent foreign-policy review: ”Canadians hold their values dear, but are not keen to see them imposed on others. This is not the Canadian way.” One reason it is not the Canadian way is that when American presidents speak of liberty as God’s plan for mankind, even God-fearing Canadians wonder when God began disclosing his plans to presidents.
Of course, American self-belief is not an eternal quantity. Jefferson airily assumed that democracy would be carried on the wings of enlightenment, reason and science. No one argues that now. Not even Bush. He does speak of liberty as ”the plan of heaven for humanity and the best hope for progress here on Earth,” but in more sober moments, he will concede that the promotion of freedom is hard work, stretching out for generations and with no certain end in sight.

Rats and vomiting
Rats are considered a non-vomiting species (also called nonemetic) (Hatcher 1924). Rats do not vomit in response to cues that cause vomiting in other animals, like emetic drugs, poison, motion-sickness, and radiation (e.g. Takeda et al. 1993). Rats also don’t belch and experience hardly any reflux (heartburn).

“It is a terrible truth that we have had to acknowledge that in the pursuit of justice against those who would destroy our way of life, innocent people can be swept up in our search to find those who might harm us. It happened in this instance,” he said.
Zaccardelli should resign.
